The Different Way to Make Money Online Through Your Computer

In November of 1997, I started selling items on eBay. From that moment on, the Internet has provided me an increasing stream of revenue. Everyday, I make money from, at least, one of these sources: auctions, advertising on my websites, affiliate sales and from taking surveys. You, too, can create such revenue streams and make money online.

On this page, I will quickly outline each opportunity the Internet provides with links to additional pages where each method is gone into in detail.

Auctions

An online auction allows you to buy and sell individual items. Such auctions sites include eBay, Ubid.com, Amazon.com and many others. If you already have product to sell, online auctions are a great way to add to your monthly sales.

Advertising on Your Website

Imagine your website is a page in a newspaper. Your site has content similar to news articles. Your site can also have ads on it.

The most common type of ad looks like a newspaper classified ad - a short title, one sentence discription and a url. Your receive a small commission when a visitor to your site clicks on the link in this ad.

Affiliate Sales

A company has a product to sale. To help market their product, this company will "partner" with you in a limited way and share the profits from any sales resulting from your efforts. That is what an affiliate is. You agree to be an affiliate with the company and when through your marketing efforts a sale occurs, you get a portion of the sale price.

Typically, you place a link or a banner on your website which advertises the product or service your are affiliated with When a visitor clicks on the link or banner and a sale occurs, you get a commission. The most well know affiliate networks are Clickbank and Commission Junction, but there are a multitude of companies offering affiliate programs. Get Paid For Your Opinion - Surveys

Yes, your opinion has a value. There are many survey sites that are looking for people to fill out surveys. Typically you get paid with cash or an entry into a drawing after filling out a survey online.

Building a Website & Getting Traffic

Don't have your own website? Mystery Shopping and other Freelance Work

This next topic is slightly different from the above because it is not about making money online directly, but about finding jobs through the Internet. I have found that alot of people who are looking to work at home from their computers also have an interest in this type of work as well.

So another way to make money is to find out about work opportunities through the Internet. There are websites that will connect you with people and companies who are looking for Mystery Shoppers, Demonstrators, Merchandisers, Writers, Website Wizards, Clerical Workers and more. Time and Money Investment

You are creating your own business and that means an investment in money and time. But not necessary alot of money. Making money online does entail spending money online (or somewhere). Of course, you already bought a computer and are paying for an Internet connection. By creating your own business where you use the Internet to earn money, your computer and Internet service become business expenses.

How Will You Spend Money

Buying inventory to sell at auction.
Creating and hosting a website with your own domain name.
Methods to increase website traffic.
E-books for knowledge.
One time fee for survey database.
